How will healthcare reform implementations affect independent physicians? More than 60 percent of providers believe the current healthcare climate is “somewhat-to-very detrimental to care,” according to the 2013 Physician Sentiment Index from athenahealth and Epocrates.

Compared to employed physicians, independent physicians are 61 percent more likely to think the shift in healthcare from the ACA will make it harder to get paid, according to a new infographic from athenahealth. This new infographic also presents the physician’s outlook on how patient care will be affected, what the shift to accountable care really means and the benefits versus costs of electronic medical records (EMRs).
